Memphitz arrested at Atlanta airport
The husband of Toya Wright, formerly Toya Carter of BET’s “Toya: A Family Affair”, was taken into custody Monday after Atlanta airport security discovered a handgun in his backpack.
TMZ reports that the producer is charged with carrying a weapon in an unauthorized location and is in Georgia’s Clayton County jail.
His bond has not yet been set.
Police said Wright, 34, has a license to carry the gun but told authorities he had forgotten the weapon was in his bag when it went through the X-ray scanner at a security checkpoint.
TSA officials said offenders could face fines of up to $10,000 for bringing a gun to the airport.
Toya and her beau were recently named the new faces of Ampro Styling Gel.
