Tyler The Creator Wins “Best New Artist” At The VMAs, Says He Fell Into Kanye’s Arms After Win [Video]

Tyler The Creator beat out Big Sean, Foster the People, Kreayshawn and Wiz Khalifa as his “Yonkers” video took home the Video Music Award for ‘Best New Artist.’

His speech was tough to comprehend with all the bleeps but the Odd Future frontman’s delivery was heartfelt.

“Yo, I’m excited as f— right now, yo,” he said. “I wanted this sh– since I was 9. I’m about to cry. This is for my little brother Earl. He’s not here right now. I really can’t believe I’m here right now. I didn’t write a thank you speech. I don’t know. F—. To all the kids watching, you can do this sh–. Thank you.”

MTV asked Tyler a few questions about his victory but instead of answering he whispered his responses to fellow group member, Jasper Dolphin.

When asked if he was disappointed about not taking home a Moonman for Video Of The Year, Jasper was prompted to say, “I just wanted one, I’m fine. I like cheese.”
