Mike Vick Signs a Six Year 100 Million Dollar Contract With The Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles Monday announced that they have agreed to terms on a new six-year deal with their franchise quarterback.

The team said there will be a press conference Tuesday afternoon to officially announce the deal.

Vick, who spent 18 months in federal prison on dogfighting charges, came back to the league as a third stringer with the Eagles in 2009 and is now one of the highest paid players in the league.

“I’m very happy we were able to reach an agreement with Michael on this long-term contract,” said head coach Andy Reid. “It’s a product of all the hard work Michael has done to better himself over the last couple of years, both on and off the field.”

Vick led the Eagles to the NFC East title last season but they lost a home playoff game to the eventual Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers.

Philadelphia is a favorite to win the Super Bowl this season and appears to be primed for a run over the next few years and now those hopes are tied to Vick.

“I’m very proud that he has been able to achieve success again in this league, but he’ll be the first one to tell you that there is a lot of work yet to be done by him and this team as a whole,” Reid said. “And there’s no doubt in my mind that he will continue on that path. I give a lot of credit to Joe Banner and Joel Segal for getting this deal done.”

With this new deal, Vick will be under contract with the Eagles through the 2016 season. He was previously playing under the one-year franchise tender.

Redemption. I’m happy for him, he earned it and he was always considered one of the greatest. ^You’re diss’n Michael Vick and don’t know much at all. You’re just jumping on the bandwagon. The only dog that was considered harmful was the fighting dog. The 48 other dogs were considered perfectly well trained and enjoying a good life. It’s “a lot” to the case. So, stop being a bigot and a failure. You’re not perfect so take your wannabe perfect lame azz elsewhere and get your money up.

One thing I have noticed, if a African American public figure rather its sports or entertainment (Micheal Vick & Chris Brown) many people never want them to be forgiven. I can list the thousands of horrible things white public figures have committed yet it is water under the bridge now. Like, Robert Blake or Case Anthony.

^did you just say Casey Anthony is “water under the bridge now”? I’m pretty sure 1 million people want her in jail for life or dead still
