Mos Def Talks Tyler, The Creator and Odd Future
Long before Tyler, The Creator won a MTV Video Music Award, Goblin sold 100,000 independently, Frank Ocean become an overnight sensation or Odd Future landed a television, Mos Def’s “co-sign” of sorts helped OFWGKTA garner national attention.
Now after a successful year for OF, the man who will soon be known as “Yasiin” talked about what he’s seen from the L.A. crew since he was first introduced to Tyler’s collective.
“I liked the movement of Odd Future when it was early, when it was online, when they were doing their thing, I’m happy for all of their success,” Mos says.
“From a content level I can’t co-sign it, but I appreciate the energy and I’m interested to see what it will evolve into.”
