Drake Talks With Google Music [Video]

Launching just a few weeks ago, Google Music sat down with Drake for an extensive interview. The Young Money superstar spoke on putting together his sophomore LP Take Care, as well as his relationship with in-house producer Noah “40” Shebib, and the vision he has for his legacy.

“I want people to really feel like I knew Drake while he was on this Earth,” Drake says earnestly. “I know everything about him. There were no secrets, there was nothing that he hid, no feelings that he concealed.”

The MC is quick to expose his admirable loyalty to 40, even going as far as comparing their relationship to being in a group.

“Drake isn’t just me, Drake is really me and 40. We’re almost like a group I’d say. I’ll say to him I was up last night listening to so and so, and just the feeling that I got from that, I want to create that feeling. The conversation usually leads to 40 making a beat…I usually write the song right there.”

Drake also shares that head honcho Lil Wayne was hands-free when it came to his latest opus.

“The first time he listened to my album was last night, that’s how much confidence he has in me. He listened to it when it was on shelves because he can’t change anything.”
