Trae Da Truth Readies New Album, Welcomes New Son Houston

If Trae Da Truth’s name sounds familiar, it’s no coincidence. The Houston rapper got unfortunate national attention this summer when a celebration in his honor ended in violence. His Trae Day event on the campus of Texas Southern University was cancelled abruptly after a drive-by shooting.

Now months later and with the assailants arrested for the crime, Da Truth is moving on and preparing his latest project. His first solo debut, Restless , has been deemed the 14th best Houston album of all time and now the Texas MC is ready to produce another classic.

Trae’s next solo project is titled The Truth and will hit stores Feb 16, 2010. The Truth features Lil Wayne, Bun B, Plies, Young Buck, Jadakiss, Rick Ross, Ludacris, Shawty Lo, Game and S.L.A.B. His first single from the album will be “Something Real” featuring Mr. Buss It Baby himself, Plies, as well as Slim Thug, Brian Angel from Day 26 and Jodeci.

Until the February release of his album, he’s keeping his buzz fresh with a new mixtape, The Incredible Truth, leaked earlier this week at a Houston club.

The Texas MC also just became a new father. Check out Trae with his newborn son Houston born on October 21st. Little Houston weighed in at 7LB, 10 OZ.
