Jay-Z To Debut $10 Million 40/40 Club Remodel

Shawn Carter hands have been busy as of late. Hov recently welcomed his brand new baby girl, Blue Ivy Carter, into the world and dedicated a song to her shortly thereafter. Immediately following that, he was back to business. After announcing that he’ll be the new face of Duracell, Hov’s camp has announced the reopening of NYC’s 40/40 Club.

Last year, the NYC location shut down to undergo renovations. The first 40/40 Club paled in comparison to the Las Vegas (now closed) and Atlantic City locales which followed it, so it was only a matter of time before original got a reboot. According to Grub Street, Jay-Z’s camp has confirmed that the club will be reopening for an exclusive “invite-only” premiere of the revamped 40/40 Club on January 18th.

The venue will be opened to the public shortly thereafter. The renovations reportedly neighbor in the $10 million dollar range. The club will feature a completely new look and menu, which will surely make it an immediate hot-spot in NYC, once again.

This announcement comes on the heels of Hov recently missing out on an opportunity to bring his 40/40 Club to Atlanta, after Ludacris managed to lock in the space for his new restaurant, Chicken & Beer. While there isn’t a confirmed opening date for the public, it sounds like a huge entrepreneurial year is ahead for Jay. As partial owner of the New Jersey Nets, he was instrumental in the team moving to Brooklyn for the start of the 2012/2013 NBA season.
