Shyne’s time has finally come. As previously reported he was released from prison on October 6 only to be detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement who were investigating his United States citizenship.  He enlisted the help of Harvard Professor Charles Ogletree to bid for a pardon form New York Governor, David Patterson but to no avail.

Unfortunately for Po his efforts were in vain and Jamal Barrow a.k.a. Shyne is leaving the country for good. His father David Barrow, who is the prime minster of the country, is expected to greet him upon arrival.

Under U.S. law, convicted felons are deported to their country of origin following the end of the sentence. The rapper was born and raised in Belize but moved to Flatbush, New York as a teenager. He never gained U.S. citizenship.

Poor Shyne. Almost ten years in prison and he can’t even go back to his old stomping grounds? Sad.
