Lil Wayne’s love for skateboarding is no secret to fans. It could even be argued that the rappers interest in kick flips and ollie’s has surpassed that of his beats and rhymes. Lately however, Weezy has suffered a string of injuries as a result of his newest hobby.

In a clip from DJ Scoob Doo’s upcoming The Nino Brown Story provided by MTV News, Wayne talked about past injuries and explained the story behind the recent shoulder injury which left him in a sling.

“Unfortunately I was skating and I tried to do an ollie down one of my banks and I tailed out at the end of it,” said Weezy while rocking a sling over his left arm.

Like an athlete giving an injury report to the press, Weezy shared the doctor’s prognosis before setting a timetable on his return to the ramps.

“I kinda didn’t separate it—hopefully I didn’t separate my shoulder, but if it was separated I wouldn’t be able to move it,” explained Wayne in the video blog. “I probably strained a muscle. I don’t know the name of the muscle, my therapist told me the name of it — I’m not sure. We were thinking I probably sprained the muscle, which is like a slight tear, which will probably take a few days to heal. A few days and I’ll be back.”

Like any athlete, the time away from his sport is tough to endure. Has has to rely on his toughness to keep rolling.

“I always get injured but I never get an injury where I can’t get back on the board,” says Wayne before reminiscing on other injuries he’s beaten.

“Remember we had the nine stitches?” he asks a friend off camera, “That didn’t mean we couldn’t skate the next day, so we skated the next day.” In August 2011, Weezy got nine stitches after a fall from his board in St. Louis.

“I ain’t worried about the pain, it hurts like hell but the worst thing is that I couldn’t really skate,” he said.

On Wednesday, Justin Bieber tweeted a photo of him and Wayne standing by a skating ramp, suggesting that Weezy my be healed and back to popping ollie’s.
