YMCMB fans who thought they’d be waiting longer for Tyga’s debut album, Careless World: Rise Of the Last King, received a nice surprise yesterday. Tyga’s album made its release date.
On Sunday, Tyga’s album was rumored to be recalled over a sample from a Martin Luther King, Jr. speech. Outlets such as Amazon and Best Buy were allegedly informed to return their stock of the project due to the sample in question. Further, the album’s February 21st release date was now being bumped by two weeks. Tyga jumped on Twitter to tell fans they’d still have the album on time. He is clearly a man of his word.
Yesterday (Feb. 21), Tyga was interviewed by V-103’s Greg Street and explained that he learned on Twitter that his album was recalled. Fans had messages sent to them stating that their pre-orders wouldn’t be met on time. They in turn took screenshots of the emails and forwarded them to Tyga. “Basically, they recalled them,” explained Tyga. “I’m looking on my Twitter and fans are hitting me up all day, posting pictures of [the album] and they have some in stores, but then they have a piece of paper next to them saying ‘Recalled – can’t sell.’ I’m like, ‘Yo, this is crazy.'”
Once Tyga found this out, the situation was cleared up, a rush order was reshipped to places like Amazon and Best Buy, and Careless World: Rise Of the Last King arrived on time. A true example of the power of the internet. The album is available now.
