George Zimmerman To Be Charged In Trayvon Martin Death

After more than a month of public outcry over the death of Trayvon Martin, his shooter, George Zimmerman, will finally face charges for gunning down the unarmed teen. The Washington Post reported early Wednesday (April 11) that the  28-year-old will be charged for shooting, and killing, Martin back in February.

While it is unclear as to what kind of charges Zimmerman will face, special prosecutor, Angela Corey, is expected to make an announcement on the matter as early as today. Corey told reporters late Tuesday (April 10) that she would be holding a news conference regarding the case, within the next 72 hours.

Rumors of pending legal action hit a high-note yesterday, after Zimmerman’s lawyers threw in the towel. The attorneys held a press conference in which they revealed that their former client had gone missing since Easter Sunday, and had been making decisions without their approval. As we reported, Zimmerman launched a website asking for donations, and had a private phone conversation with Fox News personality, Sean Hannity.

Since Martin’s death, Zimmerman has been in hiding, but has done his best to maintain his innocence, claiming that the shooting was an act of self-defence.
