Azealia Banks hasn’t put the lid on her rap  career just yet, but she is delaying the release of her forthcoming mixtape. The Harlem native took to Twitter to announce that her Fantasea project will hit the ‘Net one week later than schedule. “Bad News: ‪#FANTASEA will now be dropping on 7/11 instead of 7/4,” she wrote, Monday (June 25).

The 20-year-old has already dropped the tracks “Jumanji” and “Aquababe,” off the project and revealed to MTV News that there will be a “lot of Hip-Hop” on Fantasea. “It’s so New York and it’s so raw and it’s so just … everything that needs to be said,”  she explained. “I’m that rap girl who’s out here and doesn’t have another rapper behind her, but she’s got all this mouth and she’s all over the place.”

No doubt Banks’ outspoken nature and candid critique of other female rappers has taken some of the attention off of her work, but she continues to turn heads. Aside from posing for a spread in Paper Magazine, she’s also grabbed the attention of Nas who lauded the 20-year-old as being a “total package” with “incredible star power.”
