I’m curious how (seemingly) straight Black fans of Ocean will respond to his candid account of same-sex adoration. It will also be interesting to see how Mr. Ocean will navigate the public perceptions – will he advocate, or will he appeal for clemency and privacy?

    Who is Frank Ocean?

Sexual orientation isn’t that big of a deal. Love who you wanna love. As long as he still keeps making good music, that’s all that matters.

One of the few real men point blank, say what u wanna but hes just real, lots of these r&b singers are pretending to be something their not because their too scared.

I don’t think it was necessary for Frank Ocean to come out but bold and very brave. It seems as though, he been going back and forward with himself about this. I’m so for people being themselves and coming to terms with your life is so important. I don’t think it’s any different when the awesomely cool guy from 32nd street tells his family, friends and co-workers about his sexual preference, identity and choices. The only difference is Frank Ocean is in the public eye, which is an entirely different world on it’s own.
What I come to realize that public figures live their lives in public but their isn’t anything in their contracts that state they have to disclose or devulge anything about their personal lives. Just recently Carrie Underwood, who has been such a visible presence on all levels of entertainment and took the music industry hostage for sometime after her stint on AI (American Idol). With looks, talent and this girl-next-door-appeal, she could do no wrong. Carrie was someone that flew under the radar about her opinions because she didn’t want to cause any waves. Recently, she came out and openly gave a shoulder to the LGTB community and it was so necessary and appreciated. Instantly, she was shut down by the so-called fickle country fans for talking about her place of worship and how they accept gay people. I’m not 100% but she even chimed in about gay marriage and that is a sore subject with many. I’m openly gay but at this moment in my life, there isn’t anyone that I’m seeing but if all my dating, finally turns into something and Mr. Right is here, I want to be able to have that choice or option of marrying this man. Carrie was all for gay marriage and that was so appreciate that she took her celebrity and did something useful with it.
Her support wasn’t perceived well, Mind you, Carrie has all types of fans but she jumped from AI (American Idol) and Jesus bascially took the wheel for her career. Her reaching out to her gay fans and lending her support was epic and it was heard about all over the world. Everyon wasn’t too thrilled about Carrie being this artist that was for gays in general. I can only wish Frank Ocean and Anderson Cooper the best in their careers and this now new and improved label, that unfortunately can take off.
