More details, sort of, are starting to emerge about Lord Finesse’s $10 million dollar lawsuit against Mac Miller, his label Rostrum Records and DatPiff.com. The issue is the Pittsburgh rapper’s use of Finesse’s “Hip 2 The Game” instrumental to create “Kool Aid & Frozen Pizza (The Kool Aid Song)” off his K.I.D.S. mixtape. After hearing/reading Mac’s, which nevertheless showed respect to the Hip-Hop legend, Finesse responded with his own points, which alluded to a lack of communication.
“1. I appreciate Mac’s kind words but his people did not handle his business correctly,” tweeted the DITC rapper/producer. “2. Basics – Mixtapes are one thing, but you can’t take someone’s else’s entire song, shoot a music video and call it your own. 3. Mac’s on the top of his game right now. I wish him the best in Europe and I hope to hear from him besides on Twitter.”
This is clearly just getting started. Now someone pick up the phone.
