Maybach Music Group’s power circle just got a bit wider. Rick Ross has officially signed Chicago MC Rockie Fresh to MMG. Rozay made the announcement in the early a.m., via Twitter. “Everyone Welcome @rockiefresh to the@MaybachMusicGrp Family!!!!,” tweeted the “So Sophisticated” rapper along with a pic of the signing.
Rockie followed up with his own message, tweeting, “Salute to @RickyRozay for seeing my vision. We #RichForever #MMG.”
Hip-Hop Wired spoke to Rockie earlier this year, when he was promoting his Driving 88 mixtape, and the Chi-Town rapper spoke about his sound. “I lived in diverse setting, so that made my music become more relateable to different kinds of people,” said Rockie. “I don’t feel binded [sic] to make one sound of music. I feel like from my very first release all the way to my latest relase I’ve shown a lot of diversity in my music, so people just kind of expect that from me. It gives me a wide range of things that I can do.”
Now with MMG’s backing, expect Rockie to do plenty. Also, the new jack picked up a shiny new MMG chain. Check it out in the gallery.
