West Coast wordsmith Ras Kass is without a doubt one of Hip-Hop’s best lyricists. The veteran rap slinger has toiled on the underground of late but kept his name in the conversation with his fourth album  A.D.I.D.A.S. (All Day I Dream About Spittin) in 2010 and a street album this year, Spit No Evil with Doc Hollywood. The Soul On Ice rapper is making moves, signing with digital media powerhouse EMPIRE Distribution and prepping to release a pair of projects continuing the shoe-related theme present on his last release.

Ras Kass will be dropping an EP, P.U.M.A. before the end of the year. The album will feature production from Alchemist and Klasic along with a host of others.  The previously announced F.I.L.A. (F-ck It, Lose It All) full-length will also drop this year as Ras and EMPIRE are keeping mum about the lineup and track listing but promise some surprise guests. A single from F.I.L.A., “Sushi,” will drop next month coinciding with a video.

EMPIRE Distribution has been building a nice name for itself in the world of digitally released music, spearheading the release and spread of TDE’s Kendrick Lamar and Schoolboy Q’s albums (Section.80 and Setbacks, respectively) as well as getting behind releases from Snoop Dogg, Fat Joe, Slum Village, Phonte and Too Short.
