Louis Vuitton is at the top of the list when it comes to aspirational apparel in the hood, especially if you can afford the genuine product and not the Canal Street knock offs. For its new ad campaign (“The Greatest Words”), the high end brand recruited Yasiin Bey (aka the Mighty Mos Def) to recite famous speeches by Muhammad Ali. In the visuals, directed by Stuart McIntyre, Bey is seen and heard uttering Ali monologues/epic sh-t talking prose with the style and grace that has made him a champion MC and actor.

Also included is visual artist Niels Shoe Meulman, who literally paints the ring with his “Calligraffiti.” “You know I’m bad, I done murdered a rock, hospitalized a brick/I’m so bad I make medicine sick,” once said the Champ. True indeed. Watch the “Dream” spot below and the “Word” spot on the next page, both of which feature original music.

This is some Hip-Hop ish.
