Put this in the “Post-Racial America Is A Farce” file. An electronic billboard, commissioned by local libertarians (The Ralph Smeed Foundation) in Caldwell, Idaho compares President Barack Obama to Colorado Movie Massacre shooter James Holmes, reports the Idaho Statesman. Above and below Holmes’ face, it reads, “Kills 12 in a movie theater with assault rifle, everyone freaks out.” Above and below Obama’s face, it reads, “Kills thousands with foreign policy, wins Nobel Peace Prize.”
What’s the point? Obama broke his promise to bring the troops home and many young Americans have died, said Maurice Clements, who is helping keep alive the provocative libertarian tradition of the late Ralph Smeed, whose billboard (now electronic) is a Caldwell landmark. “We’re all outraged over that killing in Aurora, Colo., but we’re not outraged over the boys killed in Afghanistan,” Clements said of public sentiment.
What connects Holmes and Obama? Clements said he’s just comparing the way society reacts. “We’re not saying that Obama is a lunatic,” he said.
A national tragedy where 12 innocent victims were murdered in cold blood by a maniac gets used to make a political statement. We could say this is a new low, but it’s pretty much been the status quo ever since a bi-racial Black man occupied the White House.
Libertarians aren’t the only one with a beef with Obama’s foreign policy. Lupe Fiasco recently said in radio interview with Philly’s Power 99 that the POTUS “kills little children.”
