Talking To Oprah Winfrey, Rihanna Sheds Tears For Chris Brown [VIDEO]

Rihanna is still emotional over Chris Brown. The 24-year-old’s interview for Oprah’s Next Chapter will air this weekend, and the OWN network released another snippet of the special. In the newly released clip, the Bajan beauty speaks on her reaction to being physically assaulted by Brown, and despite being the victim in the situation, she selflessly came to his aid. “I just felt like he made that mistake because he needed help … and who’s going to help him?”

The singer went on to shed tears for her ex-boyfriend. “Nobody’s going to say he needs help. Everybody’s going to say he’s a monster without looking at the source … and I was more concerned about him,” she said. “I lost my best friend. Everything I knew switched, switched in a night and I couldn’t control that. It’s not easy for me to understand or interpret, and it’s not easy to interpret on camera, not with the world watching.”

Given the media circus that ensued after the attack, Rih Rih revealed that it was hard for  her to gather her thoughts, which may contribute to why she briefly reunited with Brown days after the altercation. While they haven’t been seen together since, the twosome have maintained a professional relationship, collaborating on her “Birthday Cake” remix, and speak to one another via Twitter.

Brown was sentenced to five year’s probation, and was ordered to take a domestic violence class, as well as complete community service. Although he is believed to have fulfilled his legal requirements, last month Deputy District Attorney Mary Murray  ordered an audit to confirm the hours of service that he actually completed. He is due back in court Aug. 21.

Rihanna’s interview with Oprah airs Sunday, Aug. 19, at 9:00 p.m. EST.

Now that several years have passed, it is good to see that Robin has had some experiences that have brought her joy and pain. Life is not some utopia-it is a mixture of ups and downs even when you have money and fame. The Rihanna-Chris Brown experience has left us all a lot more educated about the affect that parents have on their children in particular in choosing a mate. I am glad to see that Robin is understanding the role her dad played in her life and that parents aren’t always perfect either. Chris Brown was and is a very young man who’s greatest role model for being an adult male was his step dad-a striker. He wanted everything that comes not only with fame and fortune;but also everything that comes from being a young man in his prime and experiencing females to his fill. When confronted with Robin learning of his relationship with another female, I am sure Chris was unable to process her jealousy. Most likely he had learned that a lot of females would accept his lifestyle-except Rihanna. She would be wise to back away from him until he is ready for fidelity. It appears now Rihanna is taking on the roll of the other female-irrespecting his relationship with Karreuche. I pray the drama is over; however, it may be that this interview will lead to Part II. I pray Chris will truly feel remorse for doing what he did and seek even more counseling because as long as he is alive-he will be
some female’s next conquest until he learns how to be faithful to one.
