Mariah Carey might want to make room, because rumor has it that there is another music superstar vying for an American Idol judging spot and her name is Nicki Minaj. According to a source, the rapper is in talks to become one of the judges on the Fox singing competition which just saw the exits of Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler. “I’m not sure the deal is completely done yet, but yes, she is definitely doing it,” revealed an insider. “A few more slight things to sign off on but it is happening.”
Another unnamed source said that Minaj is “100 percent confirmed” as the newest judge on AI.
The Young Money Barbie has neither confirmed nor denied the news, but has been preoccupied with health issue that sidelined her performance in the U.K. over the weekend. Apparently enraged by receiving negative feedback for the cancellation which came after a “strained vocal cords” diagnosis, Minaj let out her anger in 140-characters or less. “I was in jeopardy of losing my voice entirely and needing surgery on my vocal chord [sic]. If u can’t understand that, you’re mother’s a WH-RE!!!!”
Here’s hoping she brings some of her Twitter passion to the judging seat, that would make for an interesting season.
