Kat Stacks is taking her freedom fight to the president. Hip-Hop’s infamous jump-off who had her tactics to garner stardom backfire when she was sent to jail, is facing deportation back to Venezuela and wants the Obama administration to give her a helping hand.
Stacks, born Andrea Herrera, has been at a Louisiana immigration detention facility since November of last year, on grounds that she is illegally in the country. Now, the former WorldStarHipHop staple and her mother, Johnyelsi Cardenas, have requested that the Obama administration delay her deportation for another two years. “All that she went through on the street, she created that person, Kat, to survive,” said Cardenas.
Unfortunately, Immigration Judge Jerry Beatmann isn’t so sympathetic. Having already rejected her adjustment request, which is being appealed by her attorney, Beatmann stated that Stacks’ “conduct was in no way indicative of someone who wants to help others, make positive changes, or be a role model.”
One light at the end of the tunnel in Stacks’ battle is the case of Daniela Pelaez, a high school valedictorian in Miami who was allowed to stay in the U.S. thanks to a presidential executive order.
Since being behind bars, Stacks has repented for the salacious actions of her past, which found her airing out various sexual conquest with the likes of Lil Wayne, Soulja Boy, and many more.
