George Zimmerman is allowed to leave the county. A Florida judge ruled Friday (Aug. 24) that Zimmerman can travel outside of his area to meet with his lawyers.

Judge Kenneth Lester granted the 28-year-old the right to leave Seminole County, and said that he will adjust the accused killer’s bond terms. For now, Zimmerman is allowed to go to nearby Orange County to visit his lawyers’ other offices, and will have to provide proper paperwork to go further. He will also remain under GPS tracking.

Zimmerman’s lawyer, Mike O’Mara is looking to have his client moved out the area due to safety concerns. “I don’t think he needs to be limited to central Florida. I don’t think he needs to be limited to Florida because of some of the threat and danger that’s still out there,” O’Mara said.

Lester also ruled in Zimmerman’s favor regarding his medical records, stating that he would look over the information to determine whether or not prosecutors will be allowed to comb through the paperwork.

Prosecutor Bernie de la Rionda is seeking further inquiry into the records to potentially crack holes in Zimmerman’s self-defense theory, which he claims was the motivation behind shooting unarmed teen, Trayvon Martin.

As of Friday, Zimmerman has approximately $60,000-$70,000 in his defense fund. Both Zimmerman and his parents have sought out financial help from the public, launching two websites devoted to donations.
