Tameka Raymond has filed paperwork to retry the custody case that gave her ex-husband, Usher, primary custody of their two sons. Tameka has accused Usher of buying the ruling in his favor, citing that his lawyers previously raised money for the judge presiding over the case.
Usher’s legal counsel was responsible for bringing in a large chunk of money for the judge’s 2008 re-election campaign.
The mother of five also feels that there was no evidence proving that she was unfit to care for the young boys. She has however called out Usher’s “past, current, and future inability” to take care of the children.
Tameka lost one of her older sons, 11-year-old Kile Glover, in July following a waterskiing accident, but fought to keep her custody hearing on schedule despite opposition from Usher.
With the battle somewhat behind him, Usher has returned back to his professional duties, performing at the iTunes Festival in London Saturday (Sept. 1).
“Man it’s just like shut-up and entertain, we don’t care about the personal stuff,” he joked of his fan’s thoughts on his very public relationship issues.
The 33-year-old has received support from his fans via Twitter, which likely helped him deal with the fight over his sons, that found him posting a photo of himself on Facebook looking somber and possibly crying. Tameka later blasted the picture as doctoring his true emotions, to garner public sympathy.
A judge has yet to rule on Tameka’s motion.
