Imagine beats from A Tribe Called Quest’s catalog getting retrofitted with lyrics from the Pharcyde. That’s exactly what you get with Bizarre Tribe: A Quest To The Pharcyde. The 50+ minute mixtape is the handiwork of Amerigo Gazaway of Gummy Soul, who last year dropped a well received mash up of Fela Kuti and De La Soul called Fela Soul.

Check out the video for the new project’s lead single “Runnin'” which features vocals from the Pharcyde’s classic tune of the same name over a version of Tribe’s groove for “Electric Relaxation.” Rather than just using the OG instrumentals, Gazeway flips the original samples and reinterprets them.
