President Obama hit up the Late Show with David Letterman, and the topic of discussion was Mitt Romney. The President responded to a leaked recording of Romney outlining his plan to appeal to voters who do not fall in the “47 percent” bracket of those who will vote to re-elect the commander in chief.

Romney’s claims, which included accusing said Americans of not paying income taxes and being “dependent on government,” have caused an uproar as it reveals an obvious disconnect between him and voters who do not bring home a specific salary.

“One thing I’ve learned as president is that you represent the entire country,” said Obama before responding to Romney’s specific comments about the Americans that he deemed as being victims, and “dependent” on the federal government. Obama defended those citizens, saying “There are not a lot of people out there who think they are victims” or simply entitled.

Footage, secretly taped during a fundraising dinner, was unearthed by the grandson of President Jimmy Carter, who works at the liberal publication Mother Jones. With the threat of more recordings being leaked to the public, Romney has kept is cool, never recanting his statements, but admitting that he could have used different wording.
