Wylcef Jean has made some explosive claims about his relationship with Lauryn Hill in his new book, Purpose: An Immigrant’s Story, and Rohan Marley wants to set the record straight.
Marley, Hill’s longtime partner with whom she split, denied that the singer tricked Jean into believing she was pregnant with his child.According to Jean, he and Hill carried on an affair while he was married. When the singer got pregnant she allegedly made her group member believe that he was the father, but the story is false–so says Marley. TMZ caught up with the son of legendary reggae artist Bob Marley, where he said that Jean “knew from the jump,” that Hill was not pregnant with his child.
Marley goes on to state Jean and Hill ended their relationship after he came around. The former love birds were so close that they were together day and night, leaving no time to rehash a side affair with Jean. “They were definitely not messing around, or he would never have given me the okay,” he said.
According to Marley, Jean is merely “saying false things to get book headlines.”
Jean asserts that he had not believed that that child was his, there would’ve been no reason for him to show up to the hospital after the child’s birth. “There is no way that I would have shown up in the hospital in that circumstance to wait for a baby to be born if it was not mine. The idea of a memoir is to tell the truth. I know that often the truth hurts, but a lie hurts even more.”
