There’s good news and bad polling news for Mitt Romney. The good news is that his campaign’s internal polls may show that he’s beating President Obama, the bad news is the national polls say that, he’s losing.

On Tuesday (Sept. 25) the Romney campaign shredded the notion that data put together from national surveys showing that he trails the president in the state of Ohio, were accurate. “The public polls are what they are. I feel confident about where we are,” said political director of the Romney campaign, Rich Beeson. “At the end of the day, Ohio is going to come down to the wire.” While Beeson has yet to release the data from the polls put together by Romney’s team, he accused Democrats of skewing data given the margin of era, which falls below 10 percent.

According to their own documents the 65-year-old is right where he should be. “This is a wide open race,” Beeson added.

Unfortunately, Romney and his team may be suffering from lack of self-awareness. With the release of a secretly recorded tape where Romney blasted 47 percent of Americans as feeling entitled to handouts, the Republican hopeful is still feeling the heat. The video all but lampooned his White House bid, further driving the theory that he is out of touch with those who are not wealthy.

Romney also caved to outside pressure, and released extra tax returns, late last week. The documents showed that he paid just over 13 percent in income taxes, thanks to foreign investments, and charitable contributions. The move was made to help prove his promise that he paid “at least” 13 percent in income taxes, but may have backfired in showing that despite being a multi-millionaire, he falls in a tax bracket lower than the average American.
