G.O.O.D. Music’s Cruel Summer is an undeniably stellar project, but the compilation left many things to question after hearing it. Q-Tip’s obvious absence from the record was perhaps most noteworthy, though. MTV had the opportunity to interview the Native Tongues affiliate at the BET Hip-Hop Awards, during which Tip maintained his usual candor by alluding to a possible Cruel Winter project.

“I’m sorry about that, but I have to let the cat out of the bag. Kanye’s probably gonna to get…,” said Q-Tip, who abruptly ended his statement to call over his G.O.O.D. Music brethren Pusha-T. After asking Pusha to reaffirm whether or not he should say his next statement, Q-Tip dropped a bomb, stating “If there’s a Cruel Summer, then there’s got to be a Cruel Winter, right?” Cue Funkmaster Flex bombs.

After months of delays for Cruel Summer, it will be interesting to see if G.O.O.D. Music can turn around and drop another album before year’s end. Hear Q-Tip’s ambiguous statements below.
