O.J. Simpson has hit a new low—allegedly. The New York Post reports that Simpson, currently behind bars in Nevada, wants to sell of the weapon used in the murder of ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend, Ron Goldman.
A source close to the former football star claims that the 65-year-old wants to sell the knife for $5 million, the profits of which would build a nice little nest egg. “[O.J. is] looking for a strictly cash deal so that the money can be deposited in offshore accounts and can’t be traced directly to him,” said the source allegedly told the National Enquirer.
The knife is said to be stashed somewhere in the Bahamas, and has been in Simpson’s possession ever since the 1995 double murders that divided the nation. “O.J. said he’d reveal the location once a firm deal — for a minimum of $5 million — was reached,”added the insider.
If someone were to take the bait, Simpson would find victory in getting over on the justice system, since he was acquitted of the crimes. “It’s not just about the money, O.J. will get sick satisfaction from putting one over n the cops and Ron Goldman’s family. He’d love to think he’s outsmarted them.”
Ever since the brutal slayings that took the life of the mother of two of his children, Simpson has claimed innocence, but released the book If I Did It, detailing how he would have killed the couple.
In 2008, Simpson was sentenced to 15 years in prison for a botched robbery attempt in which he tried to get back some of his memorabilia, and has filed an appeal in the ruling.
