Three 6 Mafia member DJ Paul had an unfortunate incident in New York City on Sunday (Oct. 16) when he was arrested for illegally carrying a taser. The Memphis MC’s arrest actually prevented from appearing on The Breakfast Club the following day. Staying true to his word, DJ Paul showed face at Power 105.1’s morning show fresh out of the bing.

The southern MC made it clear that he wasn’t aware that carrying a taser was illegal in the Big Apple, citing an open beer bottle as the catalyst for his arrest. “Most of the places where I got houses at you can have them,” said DJ Paul referring to the legalities of carrying a taser. Fortunately, the Memphis MC was free to walk, receiving only a misdemeanor charge.

DJ Paul also covered an array of other topics during the remainder of the interview, including the stupidest thing he’s ever been arrested for, the various ways Three 6 Mafia has made money over the years, his current realtionship with Juicy J, and more. The legendary rapper also plugged his forthcoming album A Person of Interest, which drops October 22nd.
