Bill Cosby has been on a valiant campaign to promote social conscious Hip-Hop. As previously reported, the actor/ comedian teamed up with positive Hip-Hop group, the Cosnarati band for a virtual town hall meeting to promote their album.

Recently released on November 24, the album titled Cosnarati: State of Emergency is of course nowhere nearly as successful as its mainstream counterparts, but that’s not stopping Cosby from attempting to spread the message.

His newest endeavor to promote the music is through a collaboration with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

He will work with the youth development leaders to have “LISTENing” parties for the album at various Boys & Girls locations nationwide.

Judith J. Pickens, Senior Vice President of Program and Youth Development for the organization, expressed the entities’ excitement over working with Cosby saying,

“Boys & Girls Clubs of America is excited that Clubs are hosting LISTENing parties to mobilize their communities around very poignant issues that are affecting youth nationwide. We believe this is the perfect opportunity for the Clubs to not only engage teen members but also fosters dialogue and action throughout the community.”

To participate, supporters can visit billcosby.com to attend or host a LISTENing parties in their neighborhood.

Hosts of the session will receive a “State of Emergency” pack which will include a CD, the album lyrics, a list of talking points and a copy of the CD’s companion book, Come On People: On the Path From Victims to Victors.”

I applaud Bill’s efforts but I think his message is falling on deaf ears. Pun intended.
