Lil Wayne is not allowed to vote, but that’s not stopping him from keeping his eyes and ears on this year’s presidential election.

Weezy isn’t throwing his support behind President Obama or Mitt Romney, but it’s not by choice. “Leaning one way? No. I’m not, leaning toward no one, only because I can’t,” he told MTV News. “I can’t vote, unfortunately. I’m an ex-con.”

“I did follow it [the election], I am paying attention to it. Me following it meaning I kind of did my research on who both of these people were, I mean ’cause that’s all I can do from a personal standpoint. I can’t vote so all I can do is see who these people are and whoever you guys choose, at least I know a little bit about them.”

The 30-year-old’s voting privileges were revoked following the 2007 gun possession arrest that resulted in him serving eight months behind bars. Wayne was released in November of 2010 and hasn’t run into much legal trouble (besides lawsuit, for alleged unpaid fees to producers and such), ever since.

He is currently working on his forthcoming I Am Not A Human Being 2 release, which he said will feature heavy influence from Kanye Westand is due out in early December.
