All of the votes haven’t been tallied, and every polling location has yet to close, but Mitt Romney is prepared to take home a win. The Republican candidate penned a 1,118-word speech Tuesday (Nov. 5) bringing his yearlong bid for president to a close. “I’ve only written one speech at this point,” he told reports aboard his plane Tuesday (Nov. 6).

Reflecting on a political battle that was no cake-walk, Romney is satisfied with the campaign. “I am very proud of the campaign we’ve run. I feel like we put it all on the field,” he said. “We left noting in the locker room. We fought to the very end, and I think that’s why we’ll be successful.”

Romney spent Election Day doing last minute campaigning, and casting his vote near his home in Boston.

President Obama spent the day in Chicago appealing to swing-voters, thanking workers at campaign offices, and doing interviews.

As official numbers continue to pour in, the election can still go in either direction. Obama  is expected to win states like California, D.C., Illinois and Hawaii, while Romney has won Kentucky and Indiana.

Florida, Colorado, North Carolina and Virginia are still considered a “toss up. ”
