Based on his beef record alone, there’s no way that Shyne was going to let Game diss him without really clapping back. Yesterday, we reported that the Belizean rapper had nothing but good words for his onetime comrade, but given the fan comments he was retweeting, a rap rebuttal was immanent.
Thanks to MTV News we now have footage of his response. Looking less like the Bad Boy rapper we remember and more like a struggle MC waiting on the bus, Shyne unleashed his lyrical fury on Compton’s finest. Once you get past the physical barriers and take a listen to the extra-slow flow (which is shaky at first), Shyne delivers a few lines worthy of a slow-clap, and a standing ovation for his willingness to engage in the sport of it all. “I got shooters out in Cali that’ll blast for me/You forgot I put your chest where you’re back should be. Tech squeeze off rapidly, I’m in Paris at the Plaza blood, ask for me. You little ungrateful b-stard/Forgot to say your grace after me/Now bow down, pay homage and ask to breathe.”
Then there was this rip: “New God flow, I blew breath into your nostrils/ Only God knows, I’m the idol that you bow to, realist alive. Your red flag is a costume.”
No doubt Shyne has the potential to verbally slay his many opponents, but with all that he’s been through over the years, the video shows signs of physical wear and tear.
