Just in time for this weekend’s epic rematch bout with Juan Manuel Marquez, Jay-Z’s Life + Times unveils the first installment of A Day In the Life: Manny Pacquiao, a two part mini-documentary on the prolific boxer and philanthropist. The film details Manny Pacquiao, his history fighting Marquez and his preparation for the upcoming fourth rematch.

Part one of the doc also answers a question that vexed boxing enthusiasts: Why did Pac-Man decide not to face Timothy Bradley in a rematch after their controversial last bout?

According to Top Rank promoter Bob Arum, “After the questionable decision in the Bradley-Pacquiao fight, I thought that the public would be intrigued with a rematch, but then people started accusing me of fixing the fight to get the rematch. And I thought that it might be too much of a blowback from the public if I did the immediate rematch.”

Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach and sparring partner Ray Beltran also speak in high regard for confidant Manny Pacquiao throughout the documentary.

PACQUIAO-MARQUEZ 4 takes place Saturday, December 8 and will be produced and distributed live by HBO Pay-Per-View®, beginning at 9:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. PT in HD where available.
