Fox Commentator Glenn Beck Calls Obama A Racist

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

This can be ranked as the fail of the day and maybe even the fail of the week. Fox News Channel commentator Glenn Beck has stated that he believes that President Barack Obama is a racist. Yes, a president that is half Black and White is a racist according to Beck.

On Tuesday, Beck was featured on the morning show, “Fox & Friends,” where he stated that the case of Henry Louis Gates Jr. exposed Obama's internal issue with the White population. By calling the actions of the authorities ignorant, Beck felt as though Obama was showing signs of his internal mentality. In the interview he stated clearly that Obama has, “a deep-seated hatred for White people or the White culture.”

Although he acknowledged that most of Obama's administration is composed of White faces, he responded by saying that he doesn't not like White people, he just has a problem with them. The initial statement, however, still stands and he cannot water down the impact of such words. Another instance such as this came from “Fox & Friends” co-host Brian Kilmeade for comments he made on racial issues relating to marriage. He would go on to apologize and state that America is a melting pot.

The reasoning behind his remark stemmed from how quickly Obama stepped into the incident with the police and Gates stating that he didn't know any of the prior presidents that would have had such urgency in the situation.

Of course some may feel this is blown out of proportion and make reference to Kanye West's statement during Hurricane Katrina, but think honestly and ask if that situation can really be compared to this? That's like comparing an apple to an orange in relation to the actual reasoning behind their remarks.

How many times is Fox going to make such statements that relate to race and be let off the hook? Bill O'Reilly has also had his share of racial remarks while being on Fox News and has continued to have constant tension with the urban community.

In response to Beck's comments, the Fox News Channel executives have made the decision to distant themselves from Beck. Fox News senior vice president of programming, Bill Shine, has stated that Beck's views are only of his own and are not a reflection of the Fox News Channel. So far, there have been three separate accounts of three different individuals on Fox News making racial remarks, so is Shine accurate in saying that Beck is not a reflection of the network?

Alpha Kappa Alpha President Sued

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

Members of the oldest African American sorority are suing their president. 20 members of a Chicago chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. are taking President Barbara McKinzie and other sorority officials to court citing misappropriation of funds. The members are ultimately asking that McKinzie be removed from her position as president and filed a complaint asking a court to, “restore their beloved sorority to its former high standards of governance, corporate transparency and active member communication.”

She is accused of spending $900,000 of the sorority's money to have a wax figure of herself made, taking $400,000 for personal expenses and arranging a $4,000 month stipend for herself after leaving office.

McKinzie claims here innocence and said the wax figure in her likeness and the wax figure of the organization's first president, Nellie Quander, only cost $45,000. In her own words she said the lawsuit was “backlash to enforced stringent financial standards as part of a professionalization of our organization."

She also added, "Change never comes easy. The malicious allegations leveled against AKAs by former leaders are based on mischaracterizations and fabrications not befitting our ideals of sisterhood, ethics and service.”

The wax figures are currently at the National Great Blacks in Wax Museum in Baltimore where they will be part of the Black fraternity and sorority representatives exhibit.

Former Oregon Prosecutor Gets 2 Years in Prison

Wednesday, July 29th, 2009

Randy Ray Richardson was sentenced on Monday to serve two years in prison with the charges being stealing the house of a dying woman. Richardson is a former Multnomah County, Oregon prosecutor.

The background spans all the way back to August 2006 when Richardson along with Eric Joe Penn persuaded a woman to sign over her North Portland house over to Penn weeks before she died. The woman, Margaret Patton, 73, was on medication and was also dealing with brain cancer when they had her sign over her $224,500 home.

Patton's home would be recovered by family, but her granddaughter reported that many special items with sentimental value that were inside were lost.

Although tearful and apologetic during the trial, his lack of remorse during the actual event lead to this. Along with that, Multnomah County Circuit Judge Michael McShane stated that a particular amount of trust was given by Patton and he chose to abuse her trust.

Highly respected by the Black community as well as his colleagues, many tried to issue letters urging the judge to reconsider the sentence given to Richardson. Names that rallied for the man included State Senator Margaret Carter, D-Portland and former state Sen. Avel Gordly.

In Carter's letter specifically, she pointed out the damage of an absent father and how it can affect the African American youth, referring to Richardson's 11-year old. She also made reference to a study that was conducted where results indicated that 25% of Black children have had their father placed behind bars before they reach the age of 14.

Race was used as a positive as his attorney, Larry Matasar, pointed out that his client has achieved many accolades as he is one of limited African American attorneys located in the Portland area.

Clearly all of the pleas fell on deaf ear as the judge still continued with the sentence. He stated that jurors were offended when Richardson tried to state that he needed to raise his son and should be allowed to avoid prison.

Richardson's run with suspicious activity runs deep as he resigned in 2000 from the Multnomah County district attorney's office as speculation began to emerge that he was part of a pyramid scheme.

Other bad behavior included allegations of domestic abuse and even bribing a witness when he was defending a man for attempted murder.

Although Richardson may have had promise and potential, people are not judged by that they can be, they are judged by the actual actions they choose to commit in life.

Hawaii Officially Confirms Obama Citizenship

Wednesday, July 29th, 2009

Since last year's presidential campaign, there have been an array of conspiracy theories about the eventual President Obama. From being born into the Muslim faith to being a trained terrorist, the theory nation that so many have held onto is the notion that Obama is not a legal U.S. citizen because he has yet to present a birth certificate that suits the naysayers.

The last few weeks there have been several inquiries that question the validity of the live certificate of birth Obama provided, making claims that the official document is not the equivalent to a state issued birth certificate.

To dispel the rumors, a Hawaii health director said she had seen with her own eyes, the original certificate of birth people have been hemming and hawing about.

"I, Dr. Chiyome Fukino, director of the Hawaii State Department of Health, have seen the original vital records maintained on file by the Hawaii State Department of Health verifying Barrack Hussein Obama was born in Hawaii and is a natural-born American citizen. I have nothing further to add to this statement or my original statement issued in October 2008 over eight months ago...."

In late October of last year, Fukino made her first attempt to cease the clamor surrounding Obama's natural citizenship that had "birthers" claiming the then Senator would be ineligible to run for office without solid proof he was born in the U.S., according to USA Today.

Car Dealer Offers Free AK-47 With Car Purchases

Wednesday, July 29th, 2009

Fallacious right-wing rumors declaring that President Obama is an enemy to the Constitutionally protected right for American's to bear arms is pushing one Butler, Missouri car salesman to offer his customers an unreal purchase incentive. Mark Muller, a purveyor of fine American made automobiles, is seeking to get rid of the gas-guzzling items in his inventory by giving away a free Kalashnikov semi-automatic rifle with every purchase of a pick-up truck.

Toting the business slogan: "God, Guns, and American Pick-Up Trucks," Max Motors has seen business boom, propelling its owner to semi-celebrity status by gaining the support of groundbreaking and influential citizens such as Mancow, Rusty, Humphries, and Rush Limbaugh while securing valuable television time with likes of Fox News, the BBC, and Al Jazeera.

The deal, an offshoot of the highly successful promotion conducted last year that saw hundreds of motorists leave Max Motors with a car and a brand new handgun, has allowed the firearm known across the world as "the weapon of terrorists" to be owned by any proud red-blooded American. In spite of the positive media coverage, a proverbial dark cloud can be spotted on the horizon, bringing into question the mindset that is propelling this seemingly unthinkable offer into the realm of success.

Political and journalistic speculators have called in to question the reasoning for giving the AK-47 away, with all conclusions resounding coming back to a concern that seems to have originated within Republican ranks. Since the inauguration of President Obama, gun sales in the nation have increased incredibly, with some populations experiencing a registration inflation of nearly one hundred hold; all amid concerns that he would make gun ownership rules more rigid, thus restricting the ownership of certain types or firearms.

To date, President Obama has promised to do otherwise. Muller has been adamant that fear has not been the motivation for the promotion that has seen many drive away in American made vehicles with the legendary Russian made death-dealer; rather, the father of four cites crime at the programs impetus. "This is about the right of defending me and my family. There is a lot of worry about crime, we have a methamphetamine problem around here and people just want to protect themselves."

Now wouldn't it be ironic if one of the meth dealers he "sold" the gun and truck too got hooked on his own supply and decided to visit Muller's house and pick out a few things. Then who would be the blame?
