Ghostface, Method Man and Raekwon Album Coming

NEWS

With projects being dropped and albums still on the rise of being released, Wu Tang Clan members Method Man, Ghostface Killah and Raekwon have had somewhat of a busy year in 2009. As rumors had speculated about a rift between certain members and their in house beat maker/member RZA, there was clearly a need to create some type of distance musically.

As MTV spoke with Ghostface Killah, he assured fans that the project was not a rap urban legend and that it has been in discussion for the past two years, but there has yet to be a title decided. In terms of how to go about the project, the rapper has stated that he wants the album to be cut down to just 12 tracks where each of the 3 just picks 4 beats a piece and just go from there. As it relates to a release date, it should come out around the fourth quarter if not then in January, according to Ghostface.

“I think that the next two months, everybody will start collecting beats. Everybody goes in. He got four songs, I got four songs, Meth has four…We don't need 16, 19 joints on there. Nah, Nah, nah, 12 phat bullets.”

The three have been featured rhyming alongside one another as of recent in tracks that should be on Raekwon's upcoming album, Only Built For Cuban Linx II, entitled “The New Wu” and “The House of Flying Daggers.”

In related news, Raekwon may be starting to come off as being a scary dude as he has denied any unofficial or official statements regarding deading the beef between himself and Jersey rapper Joe Budden, according to people within his camp. With a square dance challenge thrown out by Budden, the Chef has been reported as saying that all he wants to do is focus on the promotion of his album and nothing else.

For Ghostface Killah, his album Wizard of Poetry is still in route to be released and he has even stated that he wants to link up with singer Mary J. Blige to do a whole album together.

Method Man, outside of the music, is currently in the process of being in a film called Red Tails with singer Ne-Yo. The movie is produced by George Lucas and features stars such as Mekhi Phifer. It will tell the story of the Tuskegee Airmen which were the first Black pilots to fly in a combat squadron during World War II.
