Members of the mainstream media and sports world alike have been at awe over retired MLB legend Sammy Sosa.
Recent photos of the former all-star appearing several shades lighter while sporting green contact lenses and a slick-back, Rick Ricardo-esque hairstyle have set the internet ablaze.
“He’s not trying to be Michael Jackson,” said Sosa friend Rebecca Polihronis, speaking of a snapshot taken during Sosa’s appearance at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. “He is going through a rejuvenation process for his skin. Women have it all of the time. Part of it is just the lighting.”
Several sports and media talking heads have speculated that Sosa is actively bleaching his skin and changing other aspects of his physical appearance due to a deep dislike of his natural self, his natural dark skin.
