When Joell Ortiz isn't ripping down shows with his Slaughterhouse family he's chiming in to raise awareness about relief efforts in Haiti.
Taking to the studio Joell has dropped “Exhibit H”, a track detailing the history of the first country to successfully revolt from slavery and the current devastation that's challenging the nation today.

22-year-old Caressa Cameron of Fredericksburg, Virginia has become the seventh Black woman in history to be named Miss America.
The Virginia Commonwealth University student took home the crown Saturday beating out Miss California, Miss Tennessee, Miss Louisiana and Miss Kentucky for the title and a $50,000 scholarship.
Her win came as a surprise to some considering that Rush Limbaugh was judging the competition.
Along with Rush, Vivica Fox, jazz musician Dave Koz, Miss America 2002 Katie Harman, gymnast Shawn Johnson and former 'American Idol' finalist Brooke White also judged.
Her platform will be on AIDS education.
Other previous Black Miss America's include Vanessa Williams who was replaced by another Black woman, Suzette Charles.
Following that Debbye Turner was crowned followed by Marjorie Vincent, Kimberly Aiken, Erika Harold and Ericka Dunlap.
Congratulations to her.

Abraham Shakespeare, the Florida lottery winner who mysteriously disappeared after winning a $30 million jackpot, has been positively identified as the man found buried under a house in concrete.
As previously reported he was awarded $17 million in lump sum lottery payments before going missing in April 2009. His family did not report his disappearance until November.
Local police are now confirming that human remains found buried under concrete slabs are those of Shakespeare after being tipped off about a home in a Florida neighborhood.
When police went to investigate, they found him buried under slabs of new concrete recently added to a home.
The home is connected to Dorris Moore, a woman who's been living in the same home Shakespeare bought with his winnings and who now is being named as a “person of interest” in his death.

Reality TV star Tila Tequila stirred up controversy after professing to the world that rapper Game was the father of her unborn child.
As previously reported Tequila posted Tweets on her Twitter addressing Game as the man who got her pregnant and saying that he would take her shopping for baby clothes.

Ashford Thompson is having a hard time right now. The accused cop killer of Twinsburg, Ohio police officer Joshua Miktarian wept in court as he explained to the judge that he couldn't get a fair trial.
Describing his life in jail since the 2008 murder, Thompson, 24, explained to the judge "harassment" that he's had to deal with behind bars, including not receiving mail and having his bed sheets taken away.
"Just execute me. ... I'm tired of it. I'm at the end of my rope. What can I do?," Thompson told the judge.
Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty in the case.
The appearance Wednesday at the Summit County Court of Common Pleas was intended to be a final opportunity for the defendant's new attorneys to file any additional motions. Thompson originally pleaded guilty to aggravated murder, but later withdrew his plea. The trial is scheduled to begin on May 24th.

VH-1 will be the next outlet to take a stab and try and solve the murders of Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G.
Launching their new half-hour series “Famous Crime Scene” on Friday, February 12th at 9 p.m., the first episode will take an in-depth look at the murders of Pac and Biggie which are still unsolved.
The additional six episodes will investigate the untimely deaths of Biggie Smalls, John Lennon, Anna Nicole Smith, Selena, Marvin Gaye and Michael Jackson.

The NBA has hit LeBron James with a $25,000 fine after Wednesday night's game where he kicked a water bottle into the crowd. Now this seems a little excessive when you have ballers pulling gats on each other like they gang banging but hey… it's the NBA.
The incident happened at the end of the first quarter in the Cavs' win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
NBA Executive Vice President Stu Jackson fined James $25,000 on Thursday for the incident. James apparently became upset about not getting a call on a drive to the basket and was hit with a technical foul for complaining to referees with 12.4 seconds left in the quarter.
Coach Mike Brown took James out the game to cool him down and when LeBron came to the bench he kicked the bottle, which sprayed several fans with water behind the bench. Sending anything into the stands is against the rules and James would have been ejected from the game if the officials saw him do it.
Ok now that that's over with, let's see if the NBA will take that money and send it over to Haiti. It's not like the NBA needs it.

8-year-old Amirkis Smith has decided to donate money he says he's saving for college to the devastation in Haiti. The 3rd grader from Louisiana has saved $300.00 in a savings account for the past two years.
The smart young man has taken it upon himself to donate $50 to Haiti and decided to write a letter to President Obama telling him about it. He opens the letter saying,
“Dear President Obama. I have seen the suffering of the people in Haiti and want to share some money from my savings for their relief."
Little Amirikis gave the letter to the mayor of Shreveport who then delivered it to the President. The President has since recognized the boy on national TV saying,
"It lives on in the 8-year old boy in Louisiana, who just sent his allowance and asked if I would give it to the people of Haiti..."
If an 8-year-old can do it, there's no excuse for anyone else.
As previously reported, California government passed the Donda West Law in honor of the late mother of Kanye West in fall of 2009.
The law was designed to promote cosmetic surgery safety after the untimely death of Donda West stemming from preexisting conditions.
Now with the law in place some cosmetic surgeons claim that the new law is ineffective and unnecessary.
The law requires a physical exam and medical history before cosmetic surgeries and according to surgeons like Dr. Michael Miguire, president of the American Society of Plastic surgeons, the law is redundant.
