“Cannabis Crown 2010”... Marijuana Growing Contest Set To Kick Off

A contest to determine which marijuana growers have the “best product” is set to kick off.

Dubbed the “Cannabis Crown 2010” the marijuana contest takes place in Aspen, Colorado.

Medical marijuana planters will enter into the contest to test who has the best strain of the herb.

The strains will be tested for their THC levels and growers will be allowed to sell to medical marijuana patients.

The happy customers can they vote on the best strain of marijuana and crown “the peoples' choice.”

The contest takes place this spring.

1,500 tickets have been sold so far.

14-Year-Old Admits He Killed Parents To Avoid Chores

A 14-year-old boy is confessing to police in Colorado that he killed his mother and step-dad to avoid doing daily chores.

The boy, John Caudle, is taking responsibility for the deaths of Joanne Rinebarger and her husband Tracy Rinebarger.

He says he killed his mother because he did not want to take out the trash and then waited for his step-dad in the closet before shooting him multiple times.

He was arrested the next day 130 miles from the crime scene driving the couple's pickup truck.

He is being charged as an adult for the crimes.

Styles P Unveils “Send A Kite” Video

February 2 is but a week away and Styles P is ensuring that fans know exactly who to look out for on that date with the release of the music video for “Send A Kite”.

Providing a glimpse into the life within the penitentiary, a life that he, himself, was subject to some time ago, the rapper is getting his fans ready for The Green Ghost Project as he teams up with DJ Green Lantern for the mixtape/album.

Those dealing with a close one behind the cell or a victim to the system themselves, the song and visual can serve as little support to hold strong.

In regards to an official fourth studio album, the Ghost stated to expect another album AFTER the L.O.X. finally release their third album.  The wait continues…

Anyone that has been keeping up with Houston's own Bun B, many have noticed that the rapper has been relentlessly releasing freestyle after freestyle with no signs of even catching a breath.

Every action has a purpose, and for Bun, the tracks all served as preparation for his third album Trill OG along with promotion for Pimp C's upcoming project The Naked Soul of Sweet James Jones.

Jacki-O Partners With Tray Chaney to Assist People With Disabilities

Although her name may not be synonymous with music as it once was, female rapper Jacki-O is still trying to make sure that she is finding a way to give back in some form or fashion.

Announced by Shadow Play Entertainment, the rapper, along with recording artist Tray Chaney, have both been named Ambassadors for Community Options, Inc.

A national non-profit organization, Community Options has developed housing along with employment support for those that have disabilities.  The work of the organization has spanned back to 20 years and its operations take place in places such as New York, Kentucky, Texas, Pennsylvania New Mexico and other states across the country.

Javaris Crittenton Charged With Gun Possesion

Javaris Crittenton is following in teammate Gilbert Arenas' footsteps and has been charged with a misdemeanor in their infamous locker room scandal.

Authorities wanted to charge the Washington Wizard with a felony, "unlawful possession of a firearm" but have now settled for a misdemeanor charge of "attempting to carry a pistol without a license."

Crittenton reached an agreement with authorities to drop the felony charge in exchange for a guilty plea to the misdemeanor.

As previously reported Gilbert Arenas was hit with a felony gun possession charge after a locker room dispute with Crittenton.

He has since pled guilty.

Ja Rule Rethinks “Venni Vetti Vecci 2010”

Currently dealing with pending legal issues, rapper Ja Rule has had his music career on hold for quite some time, but has quietly been showing signs of his return.

Hoping to bring back the essence of his debut album with Venni Vetti Vecci 2010, Rule's original idea for a three disc album might have to be downsized a little bit, according to the rapper.

Freeway To Perform Haiti Benefit Concert

Nearly two weeks after the tragedy in Haiti and with the death toll reaching nearly 150,000, the Hip-Hop community is continuing to lend their support to the impoverished country.

Stepping in to do his share is Freeway who'll take the stage at a benefit concert to aid the ailing island.
