Jay Electronica Responds to Lupe Fiasco's Invitation

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

Reported earlier, Lupe Fiasco stated the admiration and respect that he has for Jay Electronica and his ability to rhyme.

He took it so far to say that he was fighting for the two to come together and create a collaborative effort for both lyricists to sink their teeth into.

It didn't take too long to get a response from Elec as the New Orleans rapper accepted and even added that people should expect to hear some noise from them much sooner that one would think.

Speaking with Brooklyn Bodega, Jay gave his R.S.V.P while giving Lupe credit for his own work,

“We going to be on a track together in the immediate future. Thats my brother. He reached out. I got (more...)

President Obama Delivers State of The Union, Promises Job Growth

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

The 44th President of the United States delivered his first State of the Union address Wednesday and promised more jobs, a three year freeze on government spending and an end to the war in Iraq.

During the speech Obama made sure to scold Republicans for what he calls not keeping with “their responsibility to govern.”

Speaking to his Democratic comrades Obama reminded them that they still had safety in numbers and that if need be they'd continue to use their 60 vote advantage to pass bills.

“To the Democrats, I would remind you that we still have the largest majority in decades…if the Republican leadership is going to insist that 60 votes in the Senate are required to do any business at all in this town — a supermajority — then the responsibility to govern is now yours as well. Just saying no to everything may be good short-term politics, but it's not leadership.”

Obama also promised to the troops in Iraq that they would be coming home soon as promised and that the U.S. would still continue to support the Iraqi government.

“We will support the Iraqi government — we will support the Iraqi government as they hold elections, and we will continue to partner with the Iraqi people to promote regional peace and prosperity. But make no mistake: This war is ending, and all of our troops are coming home.”

Obama also once again brought up his ambitious new plan to help the economy and offset the huge trillion dollar deficit, a three-year freeze on government spending.

“Starting in 2011, we are prepared to freeze government spending for three years. Spending related to our national security, Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security will not be affected, but all other discretionary government programs will.”

Styles P Preparing D-Block Takeover; Lack of Spitters [Video Included]

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

“I need another occupation, can't rap forever.”

As displeasing as it is to repeat the same fact on such a frequent basis, there's no escaping the validity in the argument of how Hip Hop has changed and become more of a show than an actual showcase for rappers to have a platform for their ability to rhyme.

Styles P, a rapper from the 90s era, with The Green Ghost Project out next Tuesday, had found a way to maintain his position as a lyricist even with his last album being 4 years ago with Super Gangster, Extraordinary Gentlemen.

Outside of the album, the D-Block member is looking to broaden the brand on the back of himself, Jadakiss and Sheek Louch as they are underway with new projects ranging from music to literature to (more...)

Jadakiss Channels Biggie for Coogi Photo Shoot & Ad

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

Since his days of coming up in the game, depending on how someone looks at it, he still might be on that come up, Jadakiss stated and still holds that the Notorious B.I.G. is one of his biggest inspirations in the music game and will forever be his top lyricist.

Clearly, there's no denying his admiration for his fallen teacher with his recent photo shoot for Coogi, which, coincidentally, seemed to be Biggie's brand of choice back in the day.

The Inspiration

Commemorating his fallen friend better than no other, "Letter To B.I.G." sounds off in the background,

Without an album and a pending L.O.X. project, for whatever reason, Kiss has to make that money elsewhere in the meantime.

As a matter of fact Jada, what happened to that album Top 5 Dead or Alive that the streets were hearing about back in 2009?

Tony Yayo Done Entertaining Young Buck “…you was eating Olivia” [Videos Included]

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

The year started off with a bang for Young Buck as he took off his kid gloves and promised to keep his foot pressed in the neck of 50 Cent and his affiliates until they gave him a means to get out of his contract.

With diss tracks coming from left and right, 50 Cent maintains his usual style of ignoring those that try and bring him into beef, but Tony Yayo decides to step up to the plate in order to finally put a nail in the coffin and quiet the storm that is Buck.

While some would come to think that Yayo would continue where his general left off on “So Disrespectful”, he actually throws his hands up on the whole situation and admittedly states that he's (more...)
