I honor you young lady for knowing your history and commenting on the eugenics/genocide, "racially targeted abortion" connection. The research is all there for anyone who REALLY wants the truth! They'll find the real underlying factors are money (billions) and genocide! When I was 23, my father, who loves me dearly (we're very close) in a moment of relief and soul searching confessed to me that he and my mother came very close to aborting me. They were not married, or in a position to care for a child. Today, I understand when my parents look at my son, they, nor I would've EVER known the love, all of us share today. Where would my wife be today? We've greatly improve eachothers lives. We are soul mates. At age 50, I realize, thousands of people have their health as a result of my efforts, assistance and involvement. Many of these people would not be living today. Their families devastated having lost a father, a mother or their child. And, No! I am not a doctor. To me, the decision to abort (for convenience) is like playing God. It determines the future of countless people beyond any individual's comprehension or ability to decide. And yes I am an African American, who grew up in the inner city. Today, my sister and I care for our parents. And I know of countless people (born of single parents) who have survived, thrived, WHO TODAY, LIVE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN PEOPLE'S LIVES. Women nor men have a right to do what they want with their bodies. We all have a choice! But our rights are God given... We can't have it both ways quoting MLK saying freedom (over our lives) is a God given right. But for the unborn life, is a man given right. Remember "Thou shalt not kill?" While courts continue to rule in error (ie slavery, Womens rights, segregation, etc.). The jury is still out on what what God's ruling and judgement for each of us INDIVIDUALLY on how WE handled this issue.... I'm appealing to people of faith, who believe in God and eternity above our courts who often OVERRULE US in favor of convenience, pressure and "special" interests.

Women do have the right to do what they want but, what *****es me off is they keep making the same mistake over again you should only get to have so many abortions. I know girls ( I work at a medical office)who just keep letting dudes go raw and keep getting abortions. I know how to drop the rate.... cut they medicaid. LOL

This is something that is not new and it goes way back into the early 1900's w/the Eugenics movement . Please do research on that movement and Margaret Sanger, before we assume in this day and age no one is that evil to attack the Black community like that. Your sadly wrong. It's a fact. For those who don't like to read (damn shame) there is a documentary about this and you can see it for free on YouTube called Maafa21. Check it out, it's real educational. It's sad that most blacks are not interested in there own history, yet everyone else is. "If you have no IDENTITY then you will IDENTIFY with anything" (best quote I ever heard; sorry can't remember who stated this.. n-e who) PEACE!!

I'm pro-choice, and find racially targeted anti-abortion ads pretty distasteful. Remember, it was Henry Hyde, the author of the now infamous Hyde Amendment which bans federal money being spent on abortion, who made clear at the time that if his amendment meant more poor and/or black women were denied abortion services, then all to the good. Let me quote him directly: “If we can save the child of a ghetto mother then we have achieved something.” And: “The unborn children of the rich in America have no defence when it comes to abortion ... In this way, they are seriously disadvantaged beside the unborn of the poor, who are at least protected if an abortion is not available under welfare." Quoted during a visit to New Zealand in August 1978. If more black women are seeking abortion services, then one might presume they are experiencing more unplanned pregnancies. The answer, clearly, isn't to ban abortion.
