In the Hip Hop realm, there happen to be some artists that don't live up to their own hype.  With some under the belief that they are lyrical geniuses, most to known of them ever achieve such an accolade with the material dropped.

Sometimes a rapper must face the facts that all he/she has working for them is a hook and great production.

For Wacka Flocka Flame, the rapper is fully aware of the fact that he is not lyrical, but doesn't care and believes that his fellow rappers that put so much focus into words aren't seeing it pay off in the long run when the money comes.

During an interview with RadioPlanet, Flame tells DJ Whoo Kid that he has no time for lyrics and wants to be straight blunt.

Voodoo Prostitution Ring Shut Down

Monday, February 15th, 2010

In Madrid Spain, police have arrested nine people accused of forcing Nigerian girls to work as prostitutes on the streets of Barcelona after telling them they had cast Voodoo spells on them.

A police statement released Friday says the nine detainees are all Nigerian and were arrested Tuesday after an investigation that began nine months ago.

According to the Catalonia region police department, the girls were smuggled into Madrid after being lured with bogus job offers and then forced to work off debts of up to €50,000 ($68,000) over the span of six months.

The gang trapped the girls through fear tactics, telling the victims that a Voodoo spell would cause terrible things to happen to them or their families if they did not keep silent about the smuggling ring and remain loyal to it.

Bigger Than Just Being Called “Ni**er” [Editorial]

Monday, February 15th, 2010

With the recent “foot in the mouth” moment from singer/guitar player John Mayer, there has been a minor backlash from the community as some have lost faith over his usage of the word “N*gger” in regards to him having a hood pass.

While many continue to be simply affected by the audacity of a white person using the racial slur in their presence the issue is much bigger than that.

African Americans continue to deal with more hardships than just being called outside of their name which need to be addressed and given more spotlight as the issues seem to have heightened since the nation decided to elect its first Black President, Barack Obama.

There seems to be heavy emphasis on issues, such as this, which might not be as crucial, while problems that need dire attention are frequently pushed to the side.

Education, employment, leadership and residence are all different aspects of the African American culture which seem to be dwindling, especially within the youth.  Having their lives being dictated and directed more by (more...)

Hooded Gunmen Open Fire On Church On Valentine's Day

Monday, February 15th, 2010

A day of worship turned into a travesty Sunday as two hooded gunmen entered a church in Richmond, California and opened fire on two teens within the service.

According to witnesses, there were three male suspects that entered the New Gethsemane Church of God In Christ Inc, walked up and down the aisles, lefts the building and returned to start the shooting.

“It's stunning and shocking,” said Church deacon Ezekiel Wallace. “It's hard to believe that people would come into God's house and do what they did…It's God's house.”

Of those that were injured in the melee, a 14-year-old boy and 19-year-old man were the victims.  Both, fortunately, are expected to recover, but are unwilling to assist authorities.

Richmond police investigators are under the belief that the attack was premeditated, but no motive has been determined as of yet.

There have been no suspects arrested as of yet.

“God will get you sooner or later,” stated one of the worshippers.

Knoc-Turn'al Continues Assault On Game

Monday, February 15th, 2010

"My father is a militant and his dad's a beautician."

Usually known as the Hip Hop bully, Game might have his hands full as far as rapper Knoc-Turn'al is concerned as he continues to wage war against the Doctor's Advocate.

With the bi-polar tendencies of Game, Knoc looks to cool down the rapper's ego and have him just come to grips with the facts.

Letting his mouth loose on Street Disciplez Radio, Knoc began again where he left off sending some idle darts down the lane.

"We're gonna erase the LA off of his face and it's a butterfly beneath that. Yeah, so why do I have to talk about a man that I could touch his booty and he would like it? My wife said not to do it but I said you know what, I'm gonna grab my nuts on this one (more...)
