There comes a time in everyone's life where they are clearly set up to fail and instead of overcoming such blatant adversity, they find a way to truly shove their foot down their mouth.
John Mayer isn't a name that rings bells too much in the Hip Hop community, but he has worked extensively with the likes of Common, Kanye West and Jay Z.
His recent words during an interview with Playboy, however, may have revoked his license to play outside with the Black community after stating that Black people loved him.
“Someone asked me the other day. ‘What does it feel like now to have a hood pass?' And by the way, it's sort of a contradiction in terms, because if you really had a hood pass, you could call it a ni**er pass (more...)

It is an odd occurrence that Black History Month is seldom given focus on particular media outlets.
How can people truly celebrate the history without first acknowledging the trials and tribulations that happened yesterday to create a better tomorrow?
Releasing the film “Blood Done Sign My Name”, a true story is told of a Black Vietnam-era veteran, Henry Marrow, that is murdered with the assailant, allegedly, being a local White businessman, but is later found not guilty by the court, which consists of an all white jury.
That's nothing to be surprised by though.
Taking place in 1970 in North Carolina, the film focuses on a local high school teacher and the results of the decision as dictated by the civil unrest of the black community.

Former heavyweight boxing champ Evander Holyfield has been served a restraining order after his wife says he hit her in the face.
Candi Holyfield filed the complaint against Evander saying that he became angry with her about church payments and “urged her to put god first in her life.”
She says he demanded to see check stubs of her tithes to the church and when she refused, he hit her in the head, face and back.
She also says this is not the first time he's been violent and reports other incidents of choking and hitting, sometimes in front of their children.
Evander is expected to appear in court February 18.

As it was reported earlier, rapper Game made the announcement that everything had truly come full circle as he was now rolling with Dr. Dre once again and joined the team of Aftermath Records once again.
Apparently, there are rumors swirling that Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson isn't sitting too well with having his enemy on the same label as him and has stated that he will not stay on the label now that the West Coast rapper is back.
It's even been taken as far as saying that he won't even work with Dre while Game is signed back to the team.
Now, for the record, 50 hasn't seemed to be in a pleasant relationship with the producer for some time as the years have progressed. On Before I Self Destruct, the rapper (more...)

The history of Hip Hop has come to create countless beefs, but there are rarely instances where peace treaties are created, at least peace that is meant to stay permanent.
After constant verbal sparring in 2009 and even a Kodak moment with kids, Rick Ross and Floyd Mayweather Jr. have finally decided to put their issues to the side and dead the beef.
Word, rappers are trying to take the higher route in 2010, who would have ever thought the day would come. Applause.
During an interview with MTV, the boss spoke on how a meeting between the two ended recently.

There are some rappers that come into the game and feel that as long as people are hungry for the material, they will continue to supply the demand. Others, however, have a clear path and once the work is done, they will move on.
Mr. Moonman Kid Cudi is one that was ready to retire from rap before his debut even dropped, but now the rapper states that it will only take three more albums to get his full message across and then his journey in music will be completed.
Just to keep track on the count, Cudi is preparing his sophomore debut, Cudder: The Revolution of Evolution, so that will leave two, maybe three, albums left in the tank before Cudi gives a curtain call for the last time.
Speaking on his decision with NY Mag, the rapper elaborated on how he plans to fully embrace his ability in acting and make the transition into a full time profession.
“I'm trying to evenly balance them out right now, but eventually (more...)
