A white professor at Towson University lost his job after sparking controversy by referring to himself as a ni**er.
Allen Zaruba was an adjunct professor at the University until late February when while discussing a chapter about identity in his class he referred to himself as a,
“N**er on the corporate plantation.”
Zaruba says he is stunned by the backlash he’s received from the statement especially considering the fact that he grew up with a Black stepfather and serves in the prison ministry.
“I am not a racist. I never have been. I’ve been raised overseas and in other cultures. It just absolutely kills me.”
Since losing his adjunct position Zaruba has reached out to administration to plead his case.
“Ni**er on a “corporate plantation?”
Is that that a slavery reference I detect? SMH…good riddance.
