The Roots' Quest Love Breaks Down Michael Jackson's Revolutionary Stance [Video]

Questlove breaks down the genius of Michael Jackson and his secret revolutionary stances in his videos.

“There was a ‘I'm still Black' undertone to a lot of his work.  I don't think it's a mere coincidence that he turned into a black panther. It could have been a hoarse, could have been a lion.  He was Black Panther.  That was a message. That was no accident.”

Interesting and real insight…

One Response to “The Roots' Quest Love Breaks Down Michael Jackson's Revolutionary Stance [Video]”

I totaly agree with Questlove and I am so glad that he spoke out on this. MJ put his Blackness out there in so many ways and talked about being proud of being Black. I think it was on his "Blood On the Dance Floor" cd that he has a song encouraging the brothers to keep the struggle alive & to never give up. "They don't care about Us" was initially filmed in a prison setting with lyrics that were so radical that he was forced to change the lyrics and re-filmthe video in Brazil. On his Dangerous tour he showed pictures of himself on the stage when he was younger and clearly Black . The brother was Bad! Thanks again, Questlove, for breakin it down for everyone.
