Oprah Winfrey is set to take the stand at a trial linked to the alleged sexual abuse scandal at her all-girls school in South Africa.

Winfrey will be joined by several of her students who are expected to testify against the headmistress of the school in a defamation lawsuit.

The former headmistress of the school Nomvuyo Mzamane filed a lawsuit against Oprah after the TV mogul heard of allegations of sexual abuse at her “Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls.”

Winfrey was quoted as saying that she “lost confidence” in Mzamane and was “cleaning house from top to bottom” after a dorm matron allegedly coerced girls to perform “indecent acts” on one another and allegedly abused the girls herself both sexually and physically.

Mzamane claims that Oprah’s statements were defamatory and have since made it difficult for her to find employment.

Oprah is expected to defend her statements on the basis of free speech.
