It seems there's more to Barbie than meets the eye as Nicki Minaj revealed to the Birdman during an interview with BET that she's being pulled between what's gonna make her sell and what's truly in her heart that she wants to spit.  The First Lady of Young Money said,

“I know what people want from me… but that's not always what I want to do but I don't want to lose them in the process.  I just did something called “Shit%ting On ‘Em.”  It's real hood, its old Nicki.  I just want to balance it.”

Nicki also revealed that she just recently realized that many of her fans were mad young.

“It makes me feel guilty because I know how I am with my 12-year old brother… very strict.  Every now and then I feel like I gotta censor it but censoring it too much I wouldn't be Nicki Minaj.  I think a part of what they like is I'm the naughty girl.

The core people I was rapping to I wasn't expecting them to be young.  So all the stuff I was saying…if I was to do a show and clean up [and cater] to both sides of the spectrum, I don't even know how I [could] make that happen.”

This is a clear example, that todays MC's are simply artist... they paint these images of characters that are not truly them... Nicki potrays the image of a super freak/lesbian/barbie on a adrenaline shot... But yall already Baby gone influence her to only do what will make Young Money/ Cash Money some more profits... And if her album flops she might as well hang it u, cuz her career will be put on the shelf... Her hype is built up off this barbie theme, and i highly doubt if she will be able 2 change her image in2 a good girl

First of all i wna say props to nicki n her come up HOWEVER i dont agree wit her image and her material as an artist. People have a right to their opinion. i dont think shes a sell out-a majority of the artists out have done something that wasnt them in order to get out. even artists who are putting out what they want have issues with it from the powers that be. they have been known to fight for years for an album and sometimes get shelved because of it.
its not as easy as outsiders would like to believe. yeah, i agree with others. her stuff before she came out was MUCH MUCH better. i guess this got her on. shed have detractors either way though. its whatever. i hope her album has some good stuff on it. i like street nicki

Hey, I usually wouldnt comment but if your readng this Ms. Nicki.... Its hard to balance out the type of person that you want to portray when being in the type of industry that your in (Im *****uming). I hear so many things and sometimes you cant figure out truth from reality. I know that once they told you to follow THEIR intructions it became really easy money. But we all know that nothing in life is free. Its really sad because growing up, (Im 23), we didnt have all this violence that has consumed our youth in todays world.
