The state of Ohio executed a serial rapist Tuesday despite his claims that he was violently allergic to the drug administered through lethal injection.
46-year-old Darryl Durr was convicted of raping and killing a 16-year-old girl in 1988. The court ruled that he kidnapped and raped 16-year-old Angel Vincent before strangling her with a dog chain and hiding her body.
After being sentenced to death by lethal injection, attorneys for Durr claimed that he suffered an allergy to anesthesia which he would be given in large amounts to stop his heart beat.
The state countered those claims saying that there was lack of evidence of his allergy and the worst effect would be death from low blood pressure and impaired breathing, effects that are irrelevant considering that he was facing capital punishment.
At the time of his lethal injection Durr reportedly grimaced, clenched his fists and held his head up before succumbing to the drug and lowering it.
Executioners are unsure whether he was in pain or just reacting emotionally to his imminent death.
Was Ohio wrong for executing him despite his “allergy?”
He showed no mercy to his victim so why should they?
Hours after the legendary Gangstarr artist Guru succumbed to cancer, the internet is blazing with speculation over the letter that was released to fans by friend and producer Solar.
The letter (see an excerpt below) explains the legendary rapper's bout with cancer and even details how the assets and his son's should be taken care of listing Solar as primary beneficiary and caregiver. The fact that this is Guru's "final letter" ,which reads more like a will, and Solar being placed to handle all of his estates' issues and finances including the care of his son has many questioning the legitimacy of the letter.
“My loyal best friend, partner and brother, Solar, has been at my side through it all and has been made my health proxy by myself on all matters relating to myself. He has been with me by my side on my many hospital stays, operations, doctors visits and stayed with me at my home and cared for (more...)

“I thought the house should be burnt down and I wanted to kill my family.”
“You girls ain't gorilla, you f**king chimpmunks.”
It looks as though Shyne may have found his particular niche to make himself relevant in the game once again, at the expense of rapper 50 Cent.

Houston bred emcee Devin the Dude is easily named as one of the most under-rated emcees. With a career in the game spanning more than 15 years, the laid back spitter has seen it all.
But now in his 15th year, a lot has changed. After leaving his long time label home Rap-A-Lot, Devin has high hopes for the future. With his first album on E1 Music Group dropping for the first time on his favorite “holiday”, 4/20, the MC sat down in an exclusive interview with Hip-Hop Wired to discuss why 4/20 is so important to him and what fans can expect when they tap into Suite #420.
Hip-Hop fans, we're sad to report that we've lost another legend as Gangstarr's Keith “Guru” Elam lost his fight with cancer on Monday.
The veteran MC was 43-years old.
His production and business partner Solar released a statement saying:
"The world has lost one of the best MCs and Hip-Hop icons of all-time -- my loyal best friend, partner, and brother, Guru. Guru has been battling cancer for well over a year and has lost his battle!
This is a matter that Guru wanted private until he could beat it, but tragically, this did not happen. The cancer took him. Now the world has lost a great man and a true genius.”

Doesn't it seem like since Jay Electronica dropped “Exhibit C”, the rapper has been doing A LOT more talking instead of delivering new music.
That buzz can't possibly last much longer without more new music to show that Jay's ability can be above the exhibits.
During an interview with Hard Knock TV, the rapper spoke on what's been the hold up on an album.
“You gotta realize that I've been doing this for awhile and now. Where I'm at now is based on me operating at my own pace and at my own space, which has gotten me here.”

Inmates at a Georgia jail have been treated to a slight change in decor.
The entire jail has been painted lime green and hot pink and the traditional orange jumpsuits have been traded in for ones in pink and green as well.
Sheriff Bobby McLemore says he made the decision to change the color scheme at the Ben Hill County jail to better control the temperament of the inmates.
He tells WALB,
“We have had very few fights, tempers don't flare half as bad as they used to this really worked."
Sheriff McLemore says he got the idea after seeing how some of the jail cells were overwhelmed with graffiti and how unruly some of the inmates were acting.
“Before we painted the jail pink it was loud you couldn't hardly hear yourself think."
On the women's side of the jail, female inmates are made to wear lime green jump suits to match the lime green interior of their section.
So far the inmates don't seem too upset by the change. One inmate tells WALB,
“It was more depressing but the pink really doesn't make it as much as a prison.”
