Funeral Home Poses Murder Victim On Motorcycle [Video]

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

A funeral home in Puerto Rico is making headlines after they decided to honor a man that was shot and killed last week by posing his dead body on his motorcycle as though he were “riding into heaven.”

22-year-old David Morales Colón was murdered last week in San Juan and his family chose to commemorate him in this “nontraditional" way.

Staff at the Marin funeral home dressed him in his riding clothes and placed him on top of his bike, hunched over in the riding position with his helmet behind him.
Friends and family attended a wake for the victim where they got to see the funeral home's work up close.

This is not the first time the Marin funeral home has had a nontraditional home going. In 2008 they made headlines for positioning the corpse of a 24-year-old man to stand up straight for a three day wake.

Check out video of David Colón's wake below.

Man Receives 17 Years For Leaving 2 Children In The Trash

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

An Ohio man has been given 17 years in prison after leaving an 8-month-old boy and a 2-year old-girl in the trash.  The action took place after an argument with the children's mother, where the male put the toddler in a plastic trash bin and the 2 year old in a trash can.

The children stayed trapped in the trash cans for 13 hours on a hot July day, before being rescued by electricians who heard them crying.  The children were found thirsty and hungry, but were safe and did not suffer physical damage.

39 year old Tommie Johnson Jr., who appeared very apologetic and sad at his sentencing yesterday, claimed that he did not purposely mean to leave the children there and had every intention of going back to get them.  However, all the tears could not have saved him, as Tommie Johnson Jr. received 17 years in prison.

The children are safe and remain in custody of a welfare agency.

SHOTS FIRED: Gloria Velez Dissing Nicki Minaj [Video]

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

There is an odd epidemic going around known as the “hater” and it has clearly become airborne.

It seems as though no one can take the name “Nicki Minaj” out of their mouths and find it necessary to keep bringing the upcoming rapper down.

The latest victim of “hate” is from model Gloria Velez who felt it necessary to weigh in and give her two cents on Minaj.

“She's a good gimmick.  She has the right team behind her, that's it, because if anyone else would have put her out or she was by herself, it would not pop off at all.”

Lesbian Student Erased From High School Yearbook For Wearing Tuxedo

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

A Mississippi high school is making headlines after erasing the yearbook picture of a lesbian student who opted to wear a tuxedo in her senior portrait.

Ceara Sturgis, a senior at Wesson Attendance Center says officials pulled her picture from the publication and erased all traces of her name.

The honor roll student's mother Veronica Rodriguez is outraged and rallied together the Mississippi ACLU or American Civil Liberties Union for help after learning in October that the school was planning on scrapping the picture.

The ACLU issued a letter to the school demanding that they use the picture but officials refused.

When the school handed out yearbooks Friday, Rodriguez says she was shocked.

She tells the Jackson Free Press,

“It's like she's nobody there, even though she's gone to school there for 12 years. They mentioned none of her accolades, even though she's one of the smartest students there with wonderful grades. They've got kids in the book that have been busted for drugs. There's even a picture of one of the seniors who dropped out of school.”

School officials have declined comment.
